ART in the park!

I really enjoyed how the parks incorporate artistry in Coeur d'Alene. I saw many interesting and large pieces while walking along city center. Some of these art works where for sale for high ticket amounts and me wanting a little version of these arts wished they sold tiny model size for me to take home:-)

Another great thing was seeing everyone walking along the park with their cameras out and snapping pictures of all the beautiful scenery. I would love to see purchasable art in the park along out trails.

When advertisement is miss placed

This was posted on the wall at 3flames mongolian. Its funny when you see advertisement for beer misplaced in family restaurants where children can read. Of course I got the questions started by my 8 year old daughter what this means:-O SAD

Weekend get away Coeur d'alene

While I was participating in school activities by going to Scarywood this weekend.  I decided to make a weekend get away out of it.

I decided to take a walk along city center and find the mooses from a map I found along a path. Here are the photos I collected. This would be interesting to have something similar along the columbia train. (maybe a lewis and clark theme)....

Art Exhibit- Sena Clara

I was surprised to see that Sena's work was done with an Iphone. The way she captures light is very interesting and stands out. Many of her pieces, though they had great lighting seemed dark and mysterious while a few of her pieces seemed seasonal, and I wanted to see the color and found myself using my imagination to picture color in her work. For instance there was piece of two tires in front of leaves, seemed to me that it was during fall. There was another picture with a snowman sharing a feeling of winter. The way she explained that these pictures capture memories made me think that I was in a book. The book that came to my mind was the giver, how the child experienced snow/sledding the first time. 

I think children would love these pictures, my daughter who's 8 loved the unicorn picture above she thins the child is at the fair parade. 

Post Modern Space

Architecture as a form of art is interesting to me since I have 5 uncles and a grandfather that was a carpenter that has done many historic restorations to keep history in every all his work.


The Cactus Building
This piece has nothing to do with history but everything to do in architectural art. This building created for a housing project looks interesting and is created to receive more sunlight than at regular 19 story building. The way the floors are turned for different layouts, makes an appearance of a pointy pattern from the outside. The balconies have the ability to have amazing greenery since the sun appears from every angle.

Cultural Imparialism

I agree with the argument out of the book that the government of countries uses television to culturally impair minds of its viewers. Just look at all the governments political issues taking up space of television viewers. I honestly watch very little television but my daughter and family join at my house to watch the voice and the political commercial going on at this time is about farmers rights and the tax raise on farmers. The farmers are agreeing that this will only make community food costs go up while government says that it will make laws be followed for food products to have properly list ingredients on all products. These commercials come on back to to back. This is visually Impairing societies views on farming. 

Google Earth

I and my house are a part of modernity and visuality. I have noticed a lot over the last view years in technology ability. I remember looking at my house from satellite a few years ago and exited to be able to see the blurry dot where my orange car sat. Today you could practically see in my windows to see whats for dinner. I can not imagine technology in another 10 years, can photos really get any more clear.

Our letter exercise looks like they can we turned into models. I see illustrator to be used for model creation. The photo on 124 makes me think of my letter creation. Maquettes can be very imaginational defining gravitation.  This is completely off topic of modeling but it makes me think of

Kenichi Ebina from America's got talent. This guy is very new in technology creation combined with dance and movement.
